Q Somehow I have changed something in Firefox and I have lost Google as my primary search engine. Now, if I try to search, or even just mistype a word, I am taken to the Bing search page. Can you please tell me how to change it back?A A software update is probably responsible for the switch in search engines. Getting Google back involves some deep digging into Firefox but eHow has instructions at tinyurl.com/o26xt6.Q I'm getting numerous messages from Facebook and from one young friend in particular who is constantly updating. I don't want to de-friend her, if that's what it is called. Is there another way I can minimise or just ignore their prattle?A You can hide a friend's items on the news feed. Go to one of the status updates or postings concerned on your news feed, then move your pointer over to the right-hand side of that text. A control called "Hide" will appear. This will hide that person's updates.Q I heard iPhones can record audio notes, like a voice recorder. Where do I find this setting?A It's called Voice Memos and the icon looks like an old-fashioned radio microphone. If you don't have it, you'll need to upgrade your iPhone's software to the latest operating system via iTunes (apple.com/iphone/softwareupdate). Take it back to the retailer if you get stuck.Updated answer: A few columns ago, a reader asked about forwarding SMS from an iPhone. The iPhone OS 3.0 software update provides the previously missing feature. If you don't see the option to forward messages, you need to update your operating system.
